← Mountaineering

Switzerland holds 48 of Europe’s 82 four-thousanders — classic glacier ascents and airy ridges, from Weissmies to the Zinalrothorn.

Guiding on mountaineering peaks in Switzerland offers the perfect blend of adventure, challenge and breathtaking alpine scenery. With 48 of Europe’s 82 four-thousand-metre peaks, Switzerland is a true mountaineer’s paradise — iconic summits like Weissmies, Alphubel and the Zinalrothorn, with classic glacier ascents, technical ridges and exhilarating mixed routes.

Beyond the 4,000m giants there are many fascinating lower mountains with unique climbs and stunning views, such as the Wildstrubel and Gross Spannort. Whether you are tackling a high-altitude peak or a scenic alpine ridge, each trip is tailored to your level — focusing on safety, technique and steady progression toward your alpine goals.

Trip options

Classic 4,000m summit — Weissmies, Alphubel or Allalinhorn

A perfect introduction to 4,000m peaks: a mix of glacier travel, steady ascents and rewarding Valais summit views. The Allalinhorn suits first-timers; the Weissmies is a more dynamic climb; the Alphubel a slightly longer challenge.

Technical ridge — Zinalrothorn (4,221m)

For a more challenging ascent, an exposed and spectacular ridge climb — a great chance to refine your alpine skills.

Multi-day — Weisshorn via the Schaligrat (4,506m)

One of the finest ridge climbs in the Alps: long, technical and exposed, demanding excellent fitness and climbing skill.

Lower alpine classic — Wildstrubel traverse (3,243m)

An alpine adventure without 4,000m altitude — glacier travel, easy scrambling and sweeping panoramas; a fantastic introductory mountaineering day.

High glacier tour — Monte Rosa / Dufourspitze (4,634m)

Switzerland's highest summit: a long, demanding ascent through breathtaking glacier landscapes.
